Current Special Events / 2008 CGC Meeting Schedule 2008 IFGA Show Schedule / Past CGC Shows Our 2008 Show Was A Huge Success !!! 575 Entries !!!
Here is a brief "Show Summary" by Michael Raimondi
"Just a shout out to congratulate John Hendrich's on a
remarkable show, well run, well organized and eventful for having 575 entries
of excellent guppies. Every year someone new steps up to the plate and this
year was no exceptions. The CGC was honored by the success of many members but
two in particular, Mauricio who took best in class and best in show with a
multi and Art who in his first year took breeder tank (reds). Only two other
person's in our club ever started out better, namely Paul Gorski and Jim
Alderson, whom I recall taking best in show in both tank and delta during
their first show.
Throughout we were ahead of schedule and set up went quickly with Art and his wife, Nicole, helping John and James Coleman, and Michael Cox, Mike Moore. Parto, Gabriel, Bill Sauer and his twin Bill Sower. Alan Opdyke and his wife Lynn provided computer and entry support. The system ran effortlessly, not because it was easy, but because they made the difficult look that way. Thanks again to Alan and Lynn. Fred Hinkleman handles the water, without spilling a drop, kept the temperature constant all day, and everyone said how healthy the fish looked on the bench. Way to go Fred. (Of course, Fred's daughter's are the real brains behind all of his ideas!). Just ask his wife. Myron Feaster ran the auction like a banker and insured its success. Beth donated a lot of plecos to the club and sales of her fish brought in more than $50.00 Ron Ballotin helped out too. With few of the 16 shipped in boxes containing any auction fish, Ron's guppies added a big lift. Others who contributed to the action to help out the club were Alan Opdyke and George Steckert and Tim and Gary Mousseau. Of course, ET Mellor was the best auctioneer any club could ask for. Paul Gorski, Bill Carwile were dropping tips all weekend and we are appreciative of their help. James Coleman showed up and lend a hand, as did Fred's lovely daughters. Many people brought along a lot of guppies, but one special person was Bob Lewis. Bob entries totalled 125. When asked why he brought so many guppies, Bob replied that Joe Grimes supported the New England Club with more entries than anyone else in the past, and that he was returning the favor. Remember -- the next IFGA show is in New Jersey in mid May. Make your reservations now. For some reason inherent to the location, that show is always a lot of fun. Next Club Meeting -- May 2008. Where? -- Michael Raimondi " Stay tuned from pictures from the show...
